For organizations

Tell us where your organization stands.

A few minutes. Nothing is for sale, and we never share your answers with anyone without your permission.

Starting January 1, 2027, a California law lets a household use a small plug-in solar device without asking the electric utility for permission, but only if the device is certified and meets the state’s electrical requirements. Qualifying equipment may not be on sale yet. The law does not give renters a right against a landlord, and a lease, the owner’s permission, and building and electrical codes may still apply. We want this to go smoothly in San Diego for renters and property owners alike.

What is your organization, and what is your role?

How familiar is your organization with plug-in solar and SB 868?
Where does it sit for you?

What are you hearing about it from the people you serve?

What would be most useful from us?

Check all that apply.

Who else should be at the table, and who has been most helpful so far?

If a genie could fix one thing about how this rolls out in San Diego, what would it be?
